Is there any chance to see new installer for SiN and Shogo?

Talk about everything.

Sorry for kicking this old thread but this forum seems like the best place to go for problems related to old native Linux games. Any news regarding a retail SiN installer? I went to quite a hazzle to get through the installation on x86_64 and it will run with the Loki compatible files but like others have encountered there is no sound, only have audio for the intro movies.

Thanks a lot for your feedback about the private beta installer.

Hi, as I already told you in private the beta installer seems to work on x86_64, albeit with no sound which is probably related to OSS dependency. On a Ubuntu 10.10 x86 setup with nVidia proprietary driver 270.41.03 (and 270.41.06) the game will crash with a segmentation fault. I have a core dump but am unsure where to post it. It 1.3 MB compressed.

For those that wish to get the full version of SiN running, you can install the LIFLG demo installer and copy its launch script and compat libraries to a second installed copy of the retail copy. Then simply change the launch script to look for "sin.exe" rather "sin-demo.x86". :)

It runs and seems to be all right, except for the sound which as doctoren has already commented only seems to work in the introductory videos. I tried the same thing that I did to the demo to get sounds, which still does work with the demo, but it does not seem to work with the retail game, at least the way I have it set up. :(

So, has there been any progress on any of these? I am having a bit of trouble getting Shogo to work on Fedora 16, while your demo installer has worked perfectly.
