RACER 0.5.4

Hi there,

I'm on Ubuntu JJ.
I run the installer but nothin' happens when I click on racer.

Someone ? Please

1) open a console
2) go to the directory of the file
3) run "sh racer_0.5.4beta1-english.run"

You're talking about the installation, right ?

Racer is already installed (actually I used the same method you describe here) on my computer

The problem occurs when I try to launch the game itself

- Use some console emulation (xterm for example)
- Change into the installation directory
- Launch the game and lets us know what happend

have same problem with my 64bit debian

What exactly is your problem Aria?
Did you try out any of the suggestions we made?
You did not supply any information about your hard- and software.

The problem is this:

The launcher is broken.

Does it work if you start the game from within the installation directory?
Does this file even exist?

I don't really understand that. Yes it exists, but running fails with error "No such file or directory":

Can you run other 32bit binaries?

The dependencies are problem. Shouldn't this be somehow handled by installer? Shouldn't the libraries be included in the program binary or something?

After installing ia32-libs packages

now do this again:

cd /usr/local/games/racer/; LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/games/racer/lib/ /usr/local/games/racer/racer.bin


or just run "racer" as you have done it in the beginning, it should work now.

It is handled by the installer (fmodex). But the ia32 libs have to be delivered by the user, this would go way too far.
