most of the blizzard games are storing their data in mpq archives
yet there isn't a good solution to extract this files

maik started coding such a tool for gnu/linux
but as asaru told me it isn't useable at the moment

There was a tool from the FreeCraft project called startool to extract data. See link:

Maybe it would be possible to extract the files to a certain directory by passing a parameter/parameters to the setup?
