Installer: Original CDs required?

does the installer checks for original cd or will I be able to install/play games with copied CDs? I suggest this depends on the game, but maybe it's never benn checked...?

As far as I know, the Loki installers don't check if CD is an original (I don't think it's technically possible).
But the game executable usually does. So, if you backup one of your games CD and install it, it'll end fine, but when you'll start the game the CD-protection check will probably fail (unless you managed to do a 1:1 copy).

Besides, Wine has problems handling some CD-protection checks. Even if you use your original CD, you'll often end up not being able to run your game unless you find a no-CD crack for it. That's a shame.

no warez or why do you ask if copied games will work with the installers?

because a friend of mine wants to test the game in linux, and it's easier (and pretty much quicker) to send him the images and not the CDs per mail.
