Is there any chance to see new installer for SiN and Shogo?

Hi.

I have two native titles: SiN and Shogo:MAD. Is there any chance to see installers for this games? It's almost impossible to run them on modern distros like Fedora 12 or OpenSUSE (Arch, Ubuntu 9.10 etc.). Especially on x86_64 distros. I've tried to run them (installed games), but i just lost my nerves. Yes - i've read Gentoo Wiki for old Loki games - nothing...

Actually, this is on my todo-list. I own Shogo for a long time and just today I go Sin.

So there is a chance to run this titles in future :D But i have one queston - i have Shogo for Windows too (but disc is broken) , and on Windows version i've had in-game music. On Linux version - not (from what I remember). There is a music in Linux version?

There is an audiotrack on the CD. But I have no idea if it still works nowadays. I'll look into, but not before the next 3 weeks.

I have installed shogo on X86_64, it runs fine, the game is a bit fast, further no probs.

Sin is a pain in the ass, can not get it run on X86_64, so it would be nice when it can be palyed.

Give rettichschnidi some time, I'm sure he will come up with a solution :)

@dekropisvol

This might help with Shogo, add the following parameter to the autoexec.cfg file located in ${HOME}/.hyperion/Shogo/

Code: Select all

"MaxFPS" "30"

Just putting in my support for SiN and Shogo installers. I can only get SiN running in SuperGamer, but because I am running that from a live-DVD and the full-version of SiN needs the CD in the drive I can only play the demo.

Shogo runs just great on my Fedora 12 machine though, except for the music which I have never ever got working. I heard it in the Windows demo though, it is okay but I do not think I am missing that much. Though I still want it working on principle.

And I suggest Jusko takes a look at this:

I lost my copy of Shogo :? I've tried to run demo, but i have some problems. Even when i paste export _POSIX2_VERSION=199209 i have:
Verifying archive integrity...Error in check sums 173477677 3765184320

That probably means your demo file is corrupted. Either try to download it again or try a different source. I can not really suggest anything else, Shogo has always tended to run well for me on my 32-bit Fedora machine.

It's liely not corrupted. I tried both demo installers lately, tried redownloading them few times, always same size, always same bit copy, but always checksum errors.

There are different demo installers available?

I don't know if there are more versions. By 'both' I meant Sin and Shogo demo installers. I used the ones Tuxgames link to. They produce the same error on my F12 x86_64, with linux32 or not.
Shogo:

Code: Select all

Verifying archive integrity...tail: „+6“ nelze otevřít pro čtení: Adresář nebo soubor neexistuje
Error in check sums 826083859 3765184320
Sin:

Code: Select all

Verifying archive integrity...tail: „+6“ nelze otevřít pro čtení: Adresář nebo soubor neexistuje
Error in check sums 1439772192 3661921217
To translate the Czech part: unable to open for reading: Directory or file doesn't exist

It's always doing this error. Redownloaded files are always bit to bit identical, at least according to diff. :)

I got the demo from FilePlanet:

sha256 hash:

To extract the demo files:

_POSIX2_VERSION=199209 sh ShogoDemo.run
