nonnononononno!

to replace a font file would me re-writing all of the interfaces and alot of game code (which no one has anyway) to handle the text size without it going everywhere.

try running it in windows mode and use KDE's magnifier or some such program.

`windows mode' -> `windowed mode'

i think its something like './ja2 --window'

try ./ja2 --help to get a list of commands (i think) or read the readme file

1. This installer isn't making install for polish version of this game
2.Maybe you can make installer for Ja2 Ub - offical expansion pack for this game ?

Still not working...

Hi! I am trying to run ja2 since this morning but still no success.
I have Slackware 10.2 with a 2.6.12 kernel. Installed the game with the loki installer (thanks for creating it!!). When I type ja2.sh, I see the banners of Sirtech and Tribsoft and them a Segmentation fault follows.
I tried some things that I found in forums, including starting a new x server, logging in as root and trying to start ja2, i even tried to run it under a 2.4 kernel I also have. Nope, always the same - I see the two banners and hear sound and a segfault after that.
I would appreciate every help as ja is the best game I've played (some time ago under winblows) and would be very happy to be able to play under linux...

:(

have a look at ja2.sh

LD_PRELOAD=$GAME_DIR/lib/libX11.so.6.2 ./$GAME_BINARY "$CMD_ARGS" "$@"

here we preload a older libX11.so to work arround the known crashbug
till now it worked for everyone

it's hard to say why but maybe you can find out whats the problem

Yes, I tried it with a couple of versions of libX11.so.6.2 but it never worked :(

What I did is, I installed the windows version in VMware. It's a pity the native version didn't work for me, but I'm happy I can play anyway.

what a pity

http://liflg.org/files/ja2/Makefile
http://liflg.org/files/ja2/ja2-xdefaults-hack.c

put the two file in the same directory and type "make"
you should get a file named ja2-xdefaults-hack.so

now try to LD_PRELOAD this instead of libX11.so
