I am trying to install newtokyo using the installers that you have so kindly provided.
it says ut2004 must be installed when i run the installer
ut2004 is in /home/myuser/games/ut2004
it has a link to the exicuteable in ~/bin (which is in the path)
the exicutable installer is in ~/burn_me
the box is
debian testing using 2.6.12.something with the ck patch set
nvidia binary drivers

are you trying to install the mod as the same user who installed ut2k4?

is yes check the symlink in ~/.loki/installed/ut2004.xml

e.g.

/home/kratz00/.loki/installed/ut2004.xml -> /usr/local/games/ut2004/.manifest/ut2004.xml

updatedb

The Command locate

locate for quickly finding files is not included in the standard scope of the installed software. If necessary, install the package (find-locate). The updatedb process is started automatically every night or about 15 minutes after booting the system

This is from suse help

I know it s old topic and i dont use debian but i have same problem if updatedb was not scaned files

Updatedb is cron job and nobody user runs this process.Dont run update db as user or root.
