MOHAA (UK) Installer wont recognise CD #2

Post by Mudra » Wed Jul 27, 2005 8:53

I am trying to install MOHAA (UK) version and the installer starts and mounts the CD fine, but does not recognise the CD #2 that I have. It works fine in Windows so I don't think its the CD.

I have tried the US version of the installer in case that would help, but still no joy.

Does anyone have a work around for this.

TIA

maybe you have a other version

show me a list of the eReg directory(cd1):

ls -l eReg

it's definitely the uk version

the installer first wants the second cd and the then the first cd

and it won't recognize the first(the second cd for the installer)?

you are on suse 9.3?

When I run the script the installer starts and mounts the CD-Rom and then asks for CD#2 to be inserted. It never detects that the correct CD is in the drive.

I am running FreeBSD 5.4

did you try the export SETUP_CDROM=/your/mnt/point trick from the faqs?

That appears to have done the trick. I am sorry to have wasted your time, I thought I had been through the FAQ's thoroughly, but obviously not.

Thanks for your help.

Mudra.

I thought that it had worked, as it went all the way through the install routine, however the game will not start, but finishes as below.

--- Common Initialization ---
Medal of Honor Allied Assault 1.11 linux-i386 Sep 3 2004
----- FS_Startup -----
Current search path:
/usr/home/james/.mohaa/main
/usr/compat/linux/usr/local/games/mohaa/main
/usr/compat/linux/usr/local/games/mohaa/main/pak6.pk3 (104 files)
/usr/compat/linux/usr/local/games/mohaa/main/pak2.pk3 (4722 files)

----------------------
4826 files in pk3 files
ASSERT: [qcommon/common.c:406] Couldn't load default.cfg (fyi)
Error: Couldn't load default.cfg

Any ideas ?

did you see lots of errors in you console during installation?

maybe our unshield binary won't work on fbsd or you don't have enough free space in /tmp

The problem I have is my /tmp. It is set ti 1Gb and I need more than that. I will have to go and learn how to make this larger and try again.

Thanks for your help and patience.

PS setenv does not seem to work on my FreeBSD install :-(

The problem is definetely my swap size, but I am struggling to sort it out. setenv does work (I was using a BASH shell not a C shell last time.).

Thanks for all the help.

will try the install again tomorrow when I have more time.
