unreal tournament

Hello, I'm trying to play unreal tournament (the old one) under linux.

I downloaded the installer - unreal.tournament_436-multilanguage.run

Installation was without problem. I cam also run the game, but problem is that it changes refresh rate or something, because my lcd says "Input not supported". I'm am able (when blindly clicking) to get to windowed mode and here is everything ok. I also tried different resolution - still no succes.

My system is debian testing (etch) and xserver is xorg (every thing from default debian packages). My NVIDIA driver is 7667 -> becasuse I had some problem newest one running.

If you have some idea what could be the problem, please write me.

you can't run in fullscreen but in windowed mode is this right?

Yes, exactly. In fullscreen it probably sets some strange resolution or refreshrate (more probably). But when i switch to windowed mode every thing is ok.

In past it worked form me, but it was older debian, older nvidia driver, different xserver, many things changed...

I met some other guy on interent who says that he has the same problem with Alpha centauri (also debian I think) and it worked for him on Mandrake 10.? ...

Probably debian has some strange libraries or what.

I tried changing default rederer, but no success. I also tried to use special modelines.

I would be glad for any help.

What resolution is it actually trying to use? The log file shows

which might not be a good resolution for your LCD.

Look in the file ~/.loki/ut/System/UnrealTournament.ini to see what FullscreenViewportX and FullscreenViewportY are set to.

I tried google. 640x480 is fine.

mostly lcds run in higher resolutions

whats you default res?

maybe try to change to your default one in the file Mayhem mentioned

I tried. It doesn't work. And 640x480 work also fine for me in other applications.
