red orchestra: You must install Unreal Tournament 2004...

Post by micah » Fri Feb 17, 2006 4:12

When I run the installer for Red Orchestra mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, it is able to verify the archive, extract the installer and then run the GTK setup.sh, which promptly pops up an error box saying:

"You must install Unreal Tournament 2004 before running this installation program.", then I click OK and it exits..... ok, but I do have it installed. Perhaps it *thinks* it should be installed somewhere else, and it just can't figure it out, but how can I specify that? I tried to use some of the flags on the setup to specify the directory where my Unreal Tournament *is* installed, but I couldn't get one that worked.

Thanks for any tips!

This behaves as if you installed ut2004 as root, but you try to install redorchestra as user. The user has not the permission to add something to the ut2004 directories.

@ micah

please use the searchfuntion this problem was solved serveral times

but as Moo-Crumpus already mentioned
install the mod as the same user who installed ut2k4

if this dosen't work search the forum and look for the "renew ut2004.xml symlink" solution
