Making an installer for project : How to ?

Hi
This maybe a silly question . I want to know how you make those installers ? I mean how you package all the dependeces with the game into one executable file ? I downloaded cube installer and it woeked on all the distros i have but when i downloaded it from the official site it didnt .
I know that i have Loki installer for make installers of my own ( right ? ) . So where i can download it ? All the links in Lokis site are down except 3ddownloades which i couldnt download from it .

Is the README of loki_patch still necessary?
if not I'd save time because it seems that nothing changed on the procedure for 3 years.

you mean the README.xml from loki_setup?

if yes you are right, nothing has changed for a long time

I meant http://cvs.icculus.org/cvs/loki_patch/R ... iew=markup .
But after reading a little more I guess this is only necessary when I want to patch an already installed program.

right this readme is for loki_patch which can be used if you want to make an installer to update a game which was installed by loki_setup
