Hello first of all my congratulations for this wonderfull installer for quake2

However i've installed your latest version your setup on my ubuntu machine, and all the procedure went well.

However when i try to run quake2 the following error appears

Code: Select all

I've also saw your FAQ on the readme File and i quote:

Q: Quake2 crashes when starting a new game.
A: It's most likely that the gamei386.so was not installed correctly.
Do not use the version that comes with the 3.20 release! See the
installation instructions above.
however if this is the problem, there is no installation intructions above the document that explain how to deal with this problem, as it is suggested in the FAQ Area

So i ask how can i address this issue?

here is the full README if you think you are missing some content http://svn.icculus.org/quake2/trunk/README?rev=205

hard to say what exactly is the problem but you could try to build you own gamei386.so
