Problems with NWN expansion installers

Postby glasswalkerny » Wed Sep 12, 2007 14:16

ok i'm trying to install NWN with both SoU and HotU expansions. I run your installers in the following order (i found these instructions.. somewhere)

nwn_1.29-multilanguage-2.run
nwn_1.68-english.update.run
nwn.sou_1.3x-multilanguage-2.run
nwn.sou_1.68-english.update.run
nwn.hotu_1.62-multilanguage-2.run
nwn.hotu_1.68-english.update.run

all seems to go well but when i run the game via either the nwn or nwmain launchers i only get asked for my main nwn key and it fails to recognize the other expansions. I even tried running nwn/nwmain before each expansion and it still doesn't see them.

I am running Ubuntu Feisty. I hope this is enough info.

You did it right but no idea what went wrong.

Did you run them from a terminal emulation, did you see any error messages?

i ran them from a terminal (Eterm if it matters) and saw no errors.

What terminal you use does not matter :)

No errors, hm. Hard to give you a good advise.

Please post a 'ls -R' of the installation directory.

or maybe it's a permission problem, did you install NWN as root (which is a bad idea in this case)?

Something must have gone wrong, you are missing essential files.

Are you sure there where no error messages during installation?

You can send me a 'ls -R' of your installation media but don't expect any reply within the next two weeks (I'm on holiday).

Hm, the game crashed, not easy to say what could be the reason.
Did you see any errors during the installation?

One other thought, are you running a 64bit operating system?

afnas

Postby afnas » Sat Mar 15, 2008 17:39

It's a 64 bit machine but only 32 bit system!

Ok. Just to be sure, whats the output of 'uname -a'.
Can you send me a 'ls -R' of your installation media but don't expect any reply within the next week because of the Easter holiday.
