Did you install the game as root user?
Try installing the game with the same user who is supposed to run the game.

Try this:

Edit the startscript in the installation directory with a text editor,
at the beginning there's a line reading

GAME_BINARY="ssam_lnx"

you have to change into

GAME_BINARY="ssam_lnx.dynamic"

Please report back, thanks.

Did you check the file permissions?
Try launching the game directly and do not use our startscript, whats happening?
