Missing files when installing Baldur's Gate 2

I'm trying to install Baldur's Gate 2 under Kubuntu 7.04 linux. I'm using pre-packaged gemrb 0.2.8. I haven't changed any options, so directories etc. are in their defaults. There is enough hard disk space (both in /home and in /tmp). My filesystem is ext3.

Many user's seem to have problems with missing chitin.key file. I guess this might give clue why it is missing at least in my case:

Do you have any ideas why installer fails to find these files? This happens only with CD 1, the other are installed fine (and even with these problems the installer tells at the end that it succeeded).

Please, don't hesitate to ask for more information if something necessary is missing.
