Well, that anonymous web didn't like the size of the file, but, the direct link worked fine for me this time. Must have been a temporary problem with the file server.

Looking forward to trying it out.

Thanks,
Statik

Damn @ web proxy page. I can tell you there was no problem with the file server but there were some routing problems i guess :)

Installer worked perfectly.

Game starts and runs as expected, graphics are smooth and audio only has mild crackles.

Then as first level continues, just up to the dino section, the sound does a leaf crash or tree crash kinda sound and the video locks, first it was for a second, then progressively longer until it was a good 10 seconds of lock to 2 or 3 seconds of play. During the 2-3 unlocked seconds it seemed fine.

Any ideas?

I have a idea, this is beta stuff and all the things you are describing are known features :)

Bad luck because it seems Croteam stopped working on the Linux client :(

Hi, I've got a problem whit SeriousSam2, I installed it with serious.sam2_2.070beta2.1-multilanguage.dvd and the installation go on without any problem but when I try to start it the output is this:

gae@Opteron180:~$ sudo serioussam2
./Bin/Linux-Dynamic-Release/Sam2: error while loading shared libraries: libXxf86misc.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
gae@Opteron180:~$

I checked with synaptic (I use Ubuntu 8.04) and the libraries are installed, the library is in /usr/lib.
I don't know what to do.
Help!!!

Are you running a 64 bit operating system?

If so, you need the 32 bit version of this library because the Linux client of Serious Sam 2 is 32 bit application.

Oh, thanks a lot,
I use Ubuntu 8.04 64bit on my Opteron180...
I didn't think about this but how can I install a 32bit library an a 64 sistem?
I remember that if I try to do this, the synaptic program tell me that that it isn't a 64 bit library...
I will try anywhere...

Hi moskitta75,
I have no clue about Ubuntu, but Google came up with:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/32bit_and_64bit

"How to make 32-bit work on a 64-bit machine"

Good luck.

i have tried our installer:

./Bin/Linux-Dynamic-Release/Sam2: error while loading shared libraries: libopenal.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

have a fresh installed machine with openal 1.6.372 (openal-soft)

i guess we have to provide them ... in the installer now.

What distri?

The old one with the *so.0 suffix is obsolete.
Many old "binary only releases" were build before openal-soft existed
and that is why you see this problem.

We could include this library in the installer or you could create a matching symlink but none is a good solution.
The best solution would be if distris would provide a package for the old libopenal library.
