Working fine as far as I can see (remembered to MOUNT the CD this time hehe).
Sound is a bit quirky here, though I guess it is unrelated to the installer.

Unfortunately, it segfaults on me. :(

Code: Select all

$ ./avp
./avp: line 152:  9644 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) ./${GAME_BINARY} ${CMD_ARGS} "$@"

Fedora 12 x86_64, GTX260 (190.53). I remember the older installer producing segfault too.
Installer itself works fine, with or w/o linux32 on my 64bit, just when I try to run the installed script, it always pops up the segfault. I tried messing with it, but no go. But Serious Sam works perfect, with or w/o linux32. And yeah, I forgot, I'm using the Gold version, can it be a problem?

@FTL

Thanks for your feedback.
Yes this seems to be the problem, this installer is not for the gold version!
So essential data files are missing, which probably cause the segmentation fault.

Could you please post the layout of your Gold-Version, so we are able to prohibit the installer to use the gold-version?

I'm not sure what dirs are the only relevant, so I got the whole CD contents.

Thats fine, thx FTL.

Could you also run this command and post the output?

find -type f | xargs file

Thank you.

Of course, here it is. I hope I presume correctly that you meant running the command only for the CD contents and not for the folder generated by the installer. :)

Yes, you are right, sorry :)

We have all information needed now.
Do not expected anything soon, this "problem" needs some serious work on unshield.

Thanks.

I just had a (quick) look at the changelog and I can not see any worthy changes. Also, a commit message like "stupid git, starting over" does not make me think that we should considering a switch to this code base. If you have a reason doing a switch, please let us know.

I just want to inform that a new version of Alien vs. Predator was released for Linux and OS X:
